“WOONSOCKET, R.I. — Officers seeking a man wanted for assaulting his girlfriend ended up seizing a backpack with marijuana and about $1,200 worth of cocaine, the police said.
At about 2:20 Tuesday morning, the police went to 174 Robinson St. looking for Steve Beaulieu, 27, for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend a day earlier.
Officers said they noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from a bedroom.
They said they saw Kyle Rivera, 24, throw a backpack with 17 grams of cocaine and 10 grams of marijuana out the window.
Rivera faces two charges of possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to deliver.
Beaulieu was charged with domestic assault, vandalism, and larceny, He was ordered held as a violator on an unrelated conviction.”
