“PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Just out of prison, a child molester found a place to stay — with a friend and her 13-year-old son, near an elementary school.
Donald R. Coulter, 55, didn’t tell the police where he was living — and he told his friend he’d served time for robbery, said Officer Christopher Poncia.
Actually, Coulter had served 10 years of a 40-year sentence for three counts of first-degree child molestation.
Coulter was released on probation Feb. 25 and moved into his friend’s first-floor apartment at 67 Joslin St., Poncia said.
When Coulter was arrested Wednesday, he said he hadn’t registered because he was busy applying for Supplemental Security Income, Poncia said.
Coulter was charged with failing to register and residing near William D’Abate School.”
