Husband and wife of 35 years had an argument that became noisy and attracted the attention of their neighbor in close proximity to their own home. A week later, the police arrested the husband and charged him with domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct. By listening to the husband and the wife and explaining the circumstances to the prosecutor, the case was dismissed. Domestic violence crimes almost always have a deeper story to tell. Educating the prosecutor requires the advocate to interview and listen to all of those involved in the incident.
